I'm very lucky to have a company car. I just got a new 2000 Taurus with engine designed to run on Ethanol (FFV = Flexible Fuel Vehicle, it has a green leaf on the side panel).
The sticker estimates that ethanol cost over a typical year is about 80% higer ($1400 vs $800). That is ok since I have never seen an ethanol gas pump.
The really bad thing is that the mpg running real gas is less than my old 98 Taurus got (10% less is an estimate). Way to go, Ford.
I know its car talk but I'd be really ranting if it was 'my' money. As it is, it does bite into my profit sharing at the end of the year.
